Our Story

For over 35 years, Precision Body Works has been a fixture in the greater Elgin community. At Precision we focus on craftsmanship and customer satisfaction. We are a small, family-owned business and we are content being just that. We don’t want to be like the big, conglomerate chain body shops. Our small size and independent nature allows us to fix cars the way they should be without making concessions to larger entities. If you have had a car accident and need repairs or are just looking to have some minor work done, give us a call today or stop by. We work with most major insurance companies.

THE SHOP

Our property consists of two buildings, with over 15,000 sq ft of active workspace. The first building houses the front office and the dedicated paint area. We use PPG eco-friendly, water based paints on all of our vehicles. The rear shop is considered our frame shop. With 2 hydraulic frame racks, including a car-o-liner EVO frame bench, there is truly no repair too advanced for us. The ample work space and separation of paint and body facilities allows for a cleaner and safer work environment and an overall better product for our customers. The buildings sit on over 1.5 acres of well-lit, paved land. The perimeter of the property is protected by a ELECTRIC GUARD DOG fence. We spend a lot of time and resources making sure that our customer’s vehicles are protected.

WHY CHOOSE US?

When you walk into our front door, you are either greeted by the owner or the owner’s son. Whenever we repair a car, our personal reputation is on the line and that means a lot to us. As Elgin residents, we see a lot of our customers at the grocery store, or at a restaurant. We want to be proud of everything that comes out of these doors. As a certified I-CAR “Gold Class” facility and a Volkswagen Certified Collision Center, we have put in the time and effort to ensure our employees our trained and capable of repairing everything that comes our way. We truly embrace the “Shop Local” mantra here as all of our employees either live in Elgin or an adjacent town. You can have your car repaired at any shop, but not every shop has the owner personally handling your vehicle throughout the entire repair process.
